I have dined in at least 5 times at this Chinese restaurant and of the last two visits, the entire dining experience has been elevated to greater height. Last week, we dined in as a party of 3 . Jojo was there to serve us. We had ordered a Patin River Fish , a bean curd, a Thai style fried chicken and a Hong Kong Choy sum. The meal , to my surprise was beyond my expectation. First, the fish was so fresh . As a non fish person, I actually enjoyed it thoroughly. Next, the fried chicken in Thai sauce was yummy albiet the sauce was too little. Lastly Vege was so so crunchy. At the end of the meal, I was treated to thier signature dessert, a Pamela sago soup with an ice cream on top. The dessert was so sinfully indulging that I wanted a second. But too bad my stomach was not huge enough to hold it. Today, I dined alone. Matthew, the restaurant manager was another brilliant gem. He gave me some good recommendations of which I ordered a noodles fried with XO sauce. When it was presented, the noodles was still steaming hot and we the Cantonese say WOK Hey. Yes priced at Rm58 before discount but the portion was huge. With only a dish ordered, I was graciously offered a complimentary dessert. I chose a sour sop sorbet which was not a burden to my stomach but it was appetizing enough. Above all, my dining experience had been gastronomical. Yes, prices are on the higher side but I am so pleased with the food texture and portion as well as impeccable service. Will I have the next one at Red? An absolute yes.

Had a really pleasant lunch here today! The food was delicious, but what truly made the experience special was the aunty who served us. She was incredibly warm, patient, and super accommodating—she went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable and well taken care of. It’s rare to come across such genuine hospitality these days, and it really left a lasting impression. Wishing her all the best, and I definitely look forward to coming back and seeing her again next time. Highly recommended!

I recently visited the brunch buffet at RED Chinese Cuisine. Service: Compared with other 5-star Chinese restaurants in hotels, the service here could still be improved. Some of the waitresses appeared to have rather sour expressions, which slightly affected the overall dining experience. A warmer and more attentive service would certainly elevate the experience. Food: Black truffle prawn dumpling – The truffle aroma was quite mild and the prawn lacked the expected crisp texture when bitten. Bamboo charcoal skin chicken & prawn dumpling – This was good. The prawn filling was fresh and you could clearly taste the natural prawn crispness. Dried oyster bean curd roll – The flavours didn’t feel very well balanced. Crispy yam with BBQ chicken filling – The yam flavour was mild and the BBQ chicken filling was hardly noticeable. Chilled cordyceps flower – A very good appetizer that nicely opened up the appetite. Crispy prawn with pomelo salad – Probably the highlight of the meal. The pomelo balanced the richness of the fried prawn very well and the prawn was fried to a perfect texture. Steamed grouper – Overall decent, although the sesame oil flavour was slightly strong. Aromatic roasted chicken – Served in a quarter portion (breast and wing). Despite including chicken breast, the texture remained succulent and the meat was well marinated. Quite enjoyable overall. Salted egg prawn – Mild but pleasant umami aftertaste. Ee Fu noodle with crab meat – The presentation could be improved as it didn’t look very appetizing initially. The taste was average, but after adding vinegar the umami flavour became more pronounced and the dish improved. Overall: Some dishes stood out, particularly the crispy prawn with pomelo salad and the chilled cordyceps appetizer. With some improvements in service and a few refinements to the dishes, this brunch buffet has the potential to offer an even better dining experience.
